Soul Meets Body
Soul Meets Body is 4 halves of a whole idiot- fronted by Genevieve Moore and backed by her 3 best buds, Soul Meets Body plays thick bitch punk rock with sounds reflective of PUP, Taking Back Sunday, and Jeff Rosenstock. Hailing from Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia, Soul Meets Body’s songs tackle issues in the music industry, neurodivergence, and mental health. They deliver high energy performances that make the audience as much a part of the show as the band itself, while reminding everyone that people come to shows to have fun. The band puts a big emphasis on community and inclusivity, and wants you to be a part of it.
Modest Goddess
Modest Goddess—the brainchild of Northern Virginia-based musicians Izzy Burke, Sam Elliott, Davis Sacks, and Jae Smith—emerged fully-formed from the members’ collective forehead (“four-head”?) in the spring of 2023 with an unquenchable zeal for peace, love, and rock & roll. Their sound blends elements of folk, funk, and indie rock to yield songs that are emotionally resonant and eminently groove-able. Baritone-wielding lead vocalist Burke’s incisive and sincere lyrics combine with the vocals and rhythmic precision of drummer Elliott, Sacks’ evocative lead guitar, and Smith’s tenacious and tender bass playing to produce foot-stomping, ass-kicking, pants-pissingly good tunes. The band looks forward to releasing its first single in 2023.
Silent Island
Silent Island is a surf punk band comprised of DC transplants from San Diego and beyond. Currently hard at work on their third EP, they remain steadfast in their goal of being able to do this for a living.
