DC-basedLil Idli is the experimental pop duo of vocalist Ranjani Prabhakar and producer/percussionist Deepak Gopinath. Lil Idli's compelling and soulful style seamlessly weaves together a unified sound reflecting hybrid cultural roots in Western jazz, classical, and South Indian classical styles. Known to be "caught in metaphors of celebration and self-reflection" by Rolling Stone India, their debut EP Mitochondria is an exploration of texture, harmony and world rhythms in search of answers to the album's premise: "what do we owe each other on a warming planet?"
