With a sound that splits the difference between fuzzy, distorted shoegaze and sparkling, ocean-surf beauty, Washington DC-based band West Coast Tape Delay revolves around the tunes of primary songwriter, Harlan Petrowski (guitars & vocals). Backed by members of established DC punk rockers venray--Tyler Bergin (bass) and Christopher Peli (drums)--what started as a pandemic-time recording side-project has blossomed into a full-on ensemble with the addition of Glenn Sleasman on guitars. The four-piece’s sound packs plenty of big hooks, thoughtful lyrics, shimmering guitars, and pummeling rhythms, appealing to fans of Nothing, Failure, Hum, and Nada Surf.
