Imkamaraa
Imkamaraa is from Bowie, Maryland. She makes alternative/new school neo-soul. Growing up, music has always been the way she communicated her thoughts and feelings. She's inspired by artists like SZA, Noname, Aaliyah, Jill Scott, Daniel Caesar and many more. The music that she makes is to help people feel that they are not alone and that their feelings are valid. Growing up, she always felt like she was an outcast until she stepped out into the world and found and made a community that inspired her to grow (and vice versa). She does it for her family and the badgyals that are quirky and were never seen.
Kendall Patton
23-year-old Kendall Patton is an underground hip-hop artist from Laurel, MD by a way of Huntsville, AL. He is 1/5th and the founder of DMV-based collective, Broken KRWN, and also 1/7th of hip-hop clique, Tha Heavyweights. He showcases high-level lyricism and storytelling dating back to 2019 with songs like “Dirty Secrets” up to now with songs like “Jedi Rap Sh¡t”. Starting his rap journey in 2014 at 13 years old, he names 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G, Jay-Z, Nas, and Prodigy as his biggest influences. He also draws inspiration from fellow Maryland-based emcees Raff Alpha and Benjo.
Naomie the Songbird
Naomie the Songbird is an alternative genre artist from Dover, Delaware. Singing and songwriting from the age of 9, Naomie grew up performing in school talent shows and church choir. This year marks the first time she’s put original music fully out into the world. She describes her music style as eclectic because she enjoys singing and drawing inspiration from various genres. Her favorite genre is inspirational; specifically music that is birthed from the perspective of fostering change and creating hope in the black and brown community.
