Dumb Lucky

Dumb Lucky is a rock band from Washington, DC. Their two original members, Ryan and Eric, have been playing music together for 15 years, but after spending the past half a decade focusing mainly on their other project, Tosser, they've decided to go back to their roots with Eric on drums and Ryan on guitar/vocals. As of now Dumb Lucky has only played solo shows which has been a fun way for them to experiment with different sounds, but now with Eric behind the kit and Massimo on the bass they are ready to display their music the way it was always intended, with a live band.

Laminate

Sonically, Laminate is a punch to the gut that will leave you asking for more. Feedback and effects-laden guitars soar over a driving rhythm section crafting a bone-rattling sound. Conceptually, Laminate is a love letter to the 90s alt-rock aesthetic that draws upon and heavily references post-punk, shoegaze, and modern indie. Laminate scratches the nostalgic itch while treading new ground with their refreshing sound.

Born of the musical vision of Jealous Yellow (guitar and vocals), Laminate began as Mark Carranza (drums), Kenny Heminger (guitar), and Yellow’s longtime musical collaborator Jacob Roos (bass). Heminger’s eventual departure and the global COVID-19 pandemic left Laminate uncertain of their future in 2020. The next year, however, saw the addition of Alfredo Arnaiz Sibila to fill the role of second guitarist and the release of Laminate’s first full length album, I, recorded prior to Heminger’s exit from the group and released in July of 2021.

The year 2022 has seen Laminate’s continued reintroduction to the public revealing the new line-up with a live video session and Laminate’s first in-person performance since 2019. Laminate continues their strong 2022 with a tour of the continental U.S. in the fall supporting Brazilian psych-rock sensation Oruã.

Oruã

Oruã, a band born in the midst of the Brazilian parliamentary coup of 2016, blends the perfect mix of acid jazz, indie rock, and experimental psychedelic. With high energy live performances that compliment their fine-art experimental arrangements, the band has proven to be a contemporary spearhead of new music frontiers. Oruã also continues to stay true to the DIY ethic of band member and founder of Transfusão Noise Records, Lê Almeida, by continuing to create an authentic and unique aesthetic of self made, hand-cut concert flyers and cassette hissed recordings. The band had undergone huge transformations in 2018 & 2019 with a South American tour, and 70+ shows in Europe and North America supporting, backing, and recording with Built to Spill.

In more recent years and after multiple line up changes, the band has gained huge momentum despite the limitations of the global pandemic. The band’s latest record, Íngreme, was written and molded during the band’s time with Built to Spill in 2019, and this record yielded a newer and more unique version of the band. In May, Oruã played alongside fellow Brazilian band, Boogarins, at Rio’s 2,200-cap venue, Circo Voador. The band also took on two separate US tours with various scattered dates for late summer and fall of 2022.
